Preparing for the future

Supporting students

At Progress Schools we support our students in making positive decisions about their future and focus on Individual career aspirations.

We produce a tailor made education package to suit each of our students to build self-esteem and confidence and equip them with the necessary skills to achieve within their chosen career path.

Students will have the opportunity to:

  • Consider their own qualities, skills, interests and academic potential
  • Participate in work related activity e.g. mock interviews, role play
  • Take part in a work experience placement suited to their chosen career path or a taster from various settings
  • Study and achieve qualifications suited to their career preferences
  • Meet weekly with a Connexions advisor to receive education and careers advice and guidance
  • Gain knowledge of options available locally and apply for; College, Traineeships, Apprenticeships or Employment (RPA Compliant)

Our aims at Progress Schools:

  • to use a range of strategies to increase motivation
  • to promote equality of opportunity
  • to develop employability skills
  • to reduce drop out from courses post year 11
